Vasilisa’s Doll

Molly Rose Strugatz

Body made from meat and memory.
Night meat.
Knife meat.
I’ll pick you out from under my skin.
Harvest church organs,
seal myself with super glue,
squander my inheritance.

My mother gave me her breasts
and mental illness.

Nature vs nurture.
Se nace o se hace.

Now, shifty grifters sift
through dead Mother’s belongings.

My momma myth,
monomyth,
mononucleosis,
the kissing disease.

There’s a catch,
strings attached.
Marionette.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Don’t say I never did anything for you.
